Fallout 3 - (DVD9 to 2x DVD5)

Fallout 3 dvd9 to 2xdvd5 [full backup]
not tested, based on sended list
eng/rus or rus only language

1)create in temp folders:
'Fallout3 1'
'Fallout3 2'

2) Copy to 'Fallout3 1' contents of dvd9

3) move to 'Fallout3 2' files:

setup-8.bin
...
setup-13.bin

4) copy to 'Fallout3 2' files:

Fallout.ico
autorun.inf

and all folders

5) Edit autorun.inf in 'Fallout3 2'

open=0
icon=Fallout.ico

u can use any labelname - its inno , its search for specific file

works for Polish/Eng that have 3 install options and English only


1) create in temp folders:
'Fallout 1'
'Fallout 2'

2) Copy game to 'Fallout 1' folder

3) Download iscab 11.0.0.28844 -fixed [i think :P] iscab_11.0.0.28844-editlayout-fix.rar
extract to 'Fallout 1'
run EditLayout.bat and dvd9to2xdvd5.bat - wait for finish
[need 6gb free space]
after recompression finished delete what you extract:

MediaBuild40.dll
ISTools.dll
ISCAB.exe
EditLayout.exe
EditLayout.bat
dvd9to2xdvd5.bat
dvd9to2xdvd5.txt
make_list.bat

4) copy to 'Fallout 2' files:
autorun.inf
Fallout3.ico

move to 'Fallout 2' file:
data3.cab

5) edit in 'Fallout 2' autorun.inf

open=0
icon=Fallout3.ico

6) Burn with any volumelabel [ you can use our temp folder name]

NOTE:
EditLayout provided by Skeraxe, hacking method layout.bin provided by ravd
all version of iscab provided by ravd [available on cd-2-dvd]

the content of "dvd9to2xdvd5.txt" must not contain any files since the main goal is to split the cabs - no files will be deleted and you must not delete any files.

mine conversion is for every based on ishield cabs
pol/eng have 3 options :
full english
half polish/half english
full polish
and his size of course is bigger - near 8GB

english 5-6 Gb and dont have any other language [i think]

mondragons conversion Fallout 3 eng dvd9 to 2xdvd5 works on any version of fallout 3, it just repacks cab files so you can split dvd9 to 2xdvd5

All the in-game video and music can be downsampled. You can shrink down a couple of gigs that way and dvd5 it. If you don't game on a high resolution screen with a quality set of speakers, you prolly won't ever notice the change. As for myself I'm deaf and blind so I don't care. Hope your not

Can you tell how to extract cabs, and then pack them again?

my method for PL version without any programs and editors.
Polish version of this game is 8,3 GB.
Make 2 folders on hdd : disk 1/disk 2, copy from original disk to folder disk 2:

data4.cab
data5.cab
data6.cab

all the rest copy to disk 1.
burn files from folders to 2 dvds.
disc 1= 3,77 GB
disc 2= 4,19 GB
Instal game from Setup.exe and...play
