MPEG4 - AVC rendering

What tools out there render to MPEG4 and/or AVC.

Wanna put some of my movies into my sony PSP but it only dos MPEG4 & AVC.

I know that Sony Vegas 6.0 does it (too bad as I only have Vegas movie) also there is some BS program they will sell you at PSP web site to render.

What about shareware tools - Adobe DVD or some of the other stuff out there

any help would be great
