F.E.A.R. backup cd walkthrough
ok guys been working on figuring this out all night and i hope this helps yall i went through and read through different threads until i was able to understand how to do this, so dont flame me pls saying someone else said this. im just making it easier for those needing help. some of this may or may not be redundant and unescessary i just wanna help yall get going.
first thing i did uninstalled the game then i mounted the image file via daemon tools. then i reinstalled the game via that image. then i disabled daemon tools virtual drive. then i clicked on the desktop shortcut and went to properties went to compatability mode changed to win2000 compatability mode(i am using windows xp) then i mounted the game via alcohol 120% then i used sr7stop which you can find a link to on gamecopyworld.com to hide the virtual drive. then i ran the desktop shortcut. BINGO finally able to play fear. id love to see a response if this works for you just to make sure i didnt forget any steps hope yall enjoy ![]() Slandaro |

- install game from image
- run patched anti-blaxx 1.17 settings for anti-blaxx --> Restore: "after game exits" --> Method: "Delete entries" settings for FEAR: --> game: <browse to InstDir>FEAR.exe .. ex. E:\Sierra\FEAR\FEAR.exe !! antiblaxx will detect S7 protection mount image -> Alcohol: (usually device 0): --> point to your image.mds exit .. right click in systray -> run game every time u want, just one click (no disabling/enabling drives) .nonspin |

Just set compatibility to Win2000 and use Virtual CD Hide
That's much easier!

Ok so I have looked all over hell and gone and cannot find any trace of a link to sr7stop on Gamecopyworld or on the internet for that matter. Anyone help me out here?
Second question: What does patched anti-blaxx mean? I have d/led 1.17 but i can find no reference to a patched version? Thanks Gang. |

nor it worked for me, i did everything as said, except for using alcohol 52 instead of 10x (whatever percent
) - EDITED, as i know now that the whole sp_demo.exe thing just seems to be the result of too little attendance and acceptance in the real, general society ;P

Thanks for the help guys.
Thanks for the links. I am still intrigued to understand the point of the patched anti-blaxx? Is this a patch to umm... extend the demo period so to speak? (wink wink) or is it a functionality change to the program?

I want to share with all those who are having trouble running FEAR what I did to make my copy work.
(1) Install game from DVD disc. (2) Created an image of FEAR thru A120% v1.9.5.3105. Burned at 4x speed. (3) Ran Diskeeper v8 to defragment my C drive. (4) Mounted the FEAR mds file to a virtual drive created under A120% v1.9.5.3105 with all emulation settings checked. (5) Opened SecROM7Stop v1.0. Clicked on the "Hide" button. Once the program confirmed that all 5 of my virtual CD drives were hidden, I closed the program. (6) Double-clicked on the FEAR desktop icon. (7) The game loaded!! (8) After exiting FEAR, restarted the SecROM7Stop program and clicked on the button to un-hide all of my virtual drives. (9) That's it!! Now, I don't know if this method will continue to work after applying the v1.01 patch. i know one member in this thread said that his FEAR still loaded up. Is there anyone else who can confirm that such a method as this still works after installing the v1.01 patch?
