Backups play fine for a week then Die??

Hi,

bit of a funny one this.

I have made 2 backups recently using my 107 with latest version of NERO 6, using Datasafe Ritek Disc burning at 2 X.

I make an image first and then burn to a -r which is no problem boot it in my Messiah Powered PS2 and plays fine.

But then a week later a boot the game again its slow and choppy. But if i use the original it plays fine.

now do i think its the discs im using, or maybe im using NERO or what.

I use the same discs for Movies and they are fine.

Any help would be much appreciated

Dal

No discs your are good, but I had a problem like this with my Rainbow 6 3. Burned at 2x on Ritek dyed media, and after a week or so, things would go wrong. I reburned twice and the same thing happened. Then, I just burned again at 1x and the same disc has been fine ever since. Strange, as it hasn't happen before or since...

Try at 1x and they'll be fine.

This may sound a little strange, but I had a couple of games do that as well. The Suffering was one of them, as well as MX Unleashed. The Suffering never did work after about a week, but MX Unleashed worked again after I washed it with dish soap and water and made sure I got all the junk off of it.

For some reason, some DVD's have this nasty ass film or something on them, that attracts dust and lint to them like none other. Wash them with a dish soap and make sure you get them washed off, dry on a soft towel, and they may work again.

Take note I said MAY. It doesn't always work, and it's not always the case, but give it a try!

Thats foe the info guys, i have looked at the disc are there as clean as the day i took them off the spindal.

Its nice to know im not the only one having these problems, something i never had when burner CDR backups using CLONE CD and Verbatim media.

I also have some Tango Ritek over prints and may use one of them today and burn at 1x and see what happens.

Shall i stick with NERO then or maybe look at buying Alocohol 120% for making PS2 DVD -R backups??

Thanks again

I'd try Alcohol - it's a great piece of software...
