hi yep sorry.......you cannot flash down firmware versions with any rom to my knowledge......unless you use a hex editor and start playing.......then you'll probably have a great door stop.
the acers are good (i have 1832A) but you need a reader to read subchannel data. i use an acer DVP1640A flashed to a pioneer 115 dvd with firmware 1.22 rpc-1(region free) this reads all! this is a good cheap combo that burns everything i throw at it
