Sorry m8,

Join the club, - you can't because of the newer - revised firmwares in the newer plextors. If u need to back up Safedisk 2 title's, you need a philips or philips based writer such as the artec's, acers, but be warned also that many of these dont support the subchannel reading requirements needed when trying to back up other types of protected software such as laserlok. some readers that support subchannel reading include Toshiba's and Teac's. Hope this helps you out somewhat.

hi yep sorry.......you cannot flash down firmware versions with any rom to my knowledge......unless you use a hex editor and start playing.......then you'll probably have a great door stop.

the acers are good (i have 1832A) but you need a reader to read subchannel data.

i use an acer DVP1640A flashed to a pioneer 115 dvd with firmware 1.22 rpc-1(region free)
this reads all!

this is a good cheap combo that burns everything i throw at it

Hi !!

If you want to downgrade your Plextor youŽll have Original
firmwares from Plextor !!
The Problem is, plextor itself has manipulated his own firmwares
1.00 to 1.08 that downgrading is impossible !!

If youŽre so lucky and youŽll have one of the Original firmwares
(1.00,1.03,1.04 from Sep.2000 to Dez.2000),you can try it.

You can proof the original & manipulated Firmwares by his Size.
The Original are greater !!!!

Good hunting & luck !!!
