PS2 DVD Direct Backup...Possible?

Hey all,
As from september this year the PHILIPS DVD+RW will
be launched for the home consumer.
Acording to philips web site we will be able to record
soaps and whatever's on T.V. just like we would with
our VHS videos.

Maybe by september our problems could be solved.
If it's not that expensive,that is.
