Just as illegal as a butter knife (you can stab people with it) or a family car (you can commit hit & run with it) or a peer-to-peer software (you can download stuff other than Linux ISO's with it
 )...

I believe its not illegal. Its a freeware that so happen that its use freely to mount image file that is against copyright i think.

DAEMON tools is not illegal though it helps a Cracker in detecting the protection of the game...
DAEMON tools is an Image mounting tool - but it only mounts images that are not protected...it blacklists the images if there is any sort of protection within it... So crackers ask you to use anti-detect tools like YASU, StarFucker, etc that prevent DAEMON from Blacklisting - so thus these tools are illegal.

No it is not illegal at all but yea man people use it in illegal way tht's the illegal thing...but yea deamon tool is very helpful... i love it a lot..
