What do you mean with "some other drivers" ? Could you be more specific please.
I've heard that other people have the same problem, and the problem is related with the machine.. but that's stupid. Maybe the game was made for nVidia and not for ATI. A friend of mine installed the game, copied the crack and played right after without any problems. He has a 7800GT. My machine is: Intel C2D 6400 2x1GB DDR2 DC ATI X1900XT 512MB
