Exactly the same problem here. I just can't get some PSX games past the PS logo, namely Bomberman World, ISS Pro Evolution (1), Dino Crisis 2, Resident Evil & Resident Evil 2 (all versions: Director's Cut, Dual Shock. PAL/NTSC, whatever...). My PS2 v7 is modded with Ripper2, and it plays everything else that I've tried without any troubles.
I've already wasted 30+ blank CDs. Any luck finding the fix in request...? |

Try upgrading the firmware on the chip.
If I remember rightly, Ripper 2 is essentially a DMS3 clone anyway... P.S. This is in the wrong section (should have started a new topic in the PS2 boards).
