Hi, last time I changed my mb, I bought and ASUS P5LD2, with Intel chipset 82801G (ICH7 Family) and it works without unpluggin the drives, the previous motherboard didnt worked without unpluggin the drives (it was ASUS A8V Deluxe (AMD) with Via chipset). I think SF has implemented some ways to get into the chipsets, but newer ones are now "inmune" to it xD.
So, if you have latests intel chipsets, at least, you can play  I've other games with SF (scct ie) and it works too. I hope starforce will never be used again in games Bye!
