more painful than puting in the disk for the 30 second check in my opinion
and the regedit thing isnt a new trick, nor do i think its really needed.. did you check?.. also messing with the registry in that way you should also point out for the user to make a backup, as those registry keys are used by the system, not just by securom/the protection...
