Armed Assault 1.05 - Bypassing protection
Here's a temporary trick, in waiting for Yasu 1.1.0's future release:
After applying the patch 1.05: - make a proper backup of your original DVD - mount it in latest Daemon Tools (with SPD 1.39 or later) - disable/unplug all your physical CD/DVD drives - go to registry via regedit, at "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices" , and rename all the right virtual CD/DVD devices (example: "\DosDevices\I:" -> "\DosDevices\I:lol", etc.) - Launch game & enjoy Tested by myself, boring method, but works @ 100%. |
more painful than puting in the disk for the 30 second check in my opinion
and the regedit thing isnt a new trick, nor do i think its really needed.. did you check?.. also messing with the registry in that way you should also point out for the user to make a backup, as those registry keys are used by the system, not just by securom/the protection... |
