he explained how he cracked it, using cracker / coder terminology, so it might have gone over your head...
the cdcheck thing could however probably be better done by checking for a write to dword @ 5113ec and patching that, probably only happens once like mov dword ptr ds:[5113ec], eax or whatever... patch the proc, not the parts that check ...
