AHEuhAUHEuaUHe funny guy. ^^

Well... I started a new game, played like 1:30 hours, and saved the game. Closed the game, later when I entered in the game, and loaded my saved one, it loads, but the image it's freezed. U know the thumbnail of the saved game? So, that's what I see. I just see the compass and items glows when I move mouse or press the keys, but my character and the world image is not showing, it's frozen at the moment I saved my game.

And I tested another thing. When I play, save the game, exit to the menu, and load the game without closing the game and returning to Windows, it loads and I can play normaly.

Sounds crazy, but it's true.
And it's no hardware issue, I'm running at max settings and all OK.

Does anyone have a clue about this plz ???

I can confirm that the "fake" or "partial" v1.08 crack works. The crossbow fix works, there are no redness inside the caves, and the animals attack more fairly. However, the issue of the solar flare is still present. It doesn't pop up all the time like it used to but it still does once in a while.

If you are referring to the v1.08 crack which 'raymerjacque' supplied then it is not correct to label it as a fake.
raymerjacque said from the very beginning that some of the files are from v1.07. That was never hidden from users. So it was never intentionally passed off as v1.08.
Yes it is a 'partial' but from most reports its the best way to go at present.

Actually, it's closest to 1.07 & 1.08 combo, plus personal mod.

I discovered what was the error here with me.
I'm telling the solution in case it happens with someone too.

After the load, if your screen has a freeze image, just go to the settings and lower your resolution, go back to the game and all will be OK. After that you can set your resolution to the one that you were using before.

Correct it is a variation of 1.07 & 1.08, what the patch did not fix tho was then manually fixed ( hence the all the additional files ), we also tweaked the hell out of it to give users an additional performance boost. I never garunteed that everything will work for everyone, it was tested on only a few systems, but side effects could be different for various people. to date it is the only existing nodvd patch for 1.08 that i know of ( still not sure if the phoenixx one works ). the modding part is the real bonus tho. my system is pretty descent, and even with me the game stuttered alot, now i am able to play the game without getting frustrated or being stunlocked by a boar.... and for everyone asking about 1.09 nodvd patch, i just really don't have the time at the moment, has been a really busy month for me, and besides, they will be releasing a string of patches, so it is pointless to make a nodvd patch for each and everyone.Maybe if they release a really big combat or major changes patch it would be worth it, but 1.09 fixed very little, only a savegame bug ....

Like I posted earlier, the partial v1.08 no-dvd works very well except for the sunglare bug still found once in a while. e.g. I encountered the sunglare bug inside Ortega's cave.

Here is a link for those running Gothic 3 with 1GB of RAM. Normally, I tend to stay away from .ini tweaks b/c they're often of dubious value, but this one really worked for me. Definitely worth your time and it increased my enjoyment of Gothic 3 quite substantially.

Well, here is the link:

yes i know about that thread, i was browsing the jowood forum imensly when i was messing with the ini file included in the patch, you will find alot of those settings included already in the file, are you sure you replaced your old ini with the new one ? also remember that if you have more than 1gb or less ram the settings would have to be altered again for best performance.

Btw, have any of you played NWN2 yet, did you know that the game is only partialy completed ? I was messing around and stumbled onto npc dialogues for the romance toons and found that only 2 npc's could be romanced, so if you play male or female you can only get into relationship with one person, kinda very limited for what the game was designed to be, anyway, when i did some searching on the net i found out that the developers had to cut that part of development short due to lack of funding and because they didn't have time to complete it in time for release date. it kinda pissed me off big time, so many developers nowadays pushing to get the software out to get the cash rolling in and not doing a descent job to complete the packadge. O well, another game i waisted my money on.

whoa, you're joking, right? Oh my, I miss the DOS-Days when Game's were what they meant to be. I miss Games like Ufo: Enemy Unknown, Dungeon Keeper or the good old Doom. They didn't sell unfinished stuff back then, instead they even had enough time to put in Easter Eggs and Bonus Material...oh, and they didn't had any Copy Protection and made it to the top of the Game-Industry anyway...

Well, to get back to the Topic of the Thread:
My Information that the Ambient Sound worked once is wrong. I just felt I would hear ambient sounds because of the stuttering (you can hear birds, waterfalls etc. while saving or stuttering). I wonder if they plan to give us a Hotfix for this. I can live without a crack if only the game itself would work as it should.

Nope, it is the publisher that pushes the software onto the market as soon as possible. For the developer's, the software is their child; do you think they like a premature birth, with all the usual complications?!

Sorry, DOOM had quite a couple of patches, mainly with online play and modem configuration. Actually, bugfree releases go back into the days when there was no way to patch games because A) there was no Internet, or any easy-to-access world wide network from which any user could get any patch for any game or B) the game was/is run from a read-only media. That's microcomputers in the 80's (don't wanna mention names because I am majorly biased: visit my homepage ) and, of course, all kinds of consoles (even today).

Ah, thnx for clarifying that, i am still pissed tho, when i play a game i like to go all out and explore every part, just knowing that it is not complete takes away the urge to click on the nwn2 icon .... altho now i am pissed at the developers for letting the publishers push them around like that

Woot! Great Collection! Hey, and you even provide a patch for Doom
And I see you are/have been quite attached to the C64, too...well, although I was only playing games instead of writing programs :P
