Hello...
after 26h testing.. now the result: 1: You need a Image from Gothic3 2: You need Virtual CD 8.0.0.4 3: Download the Fix Image & Savegame from: http://m0005.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_gothic_3.shtml 4: Install Gothic 3 and Patch it with the Release Patch from Piranha Bytes 5: u need to convert the Gothic3 Image (not the Fix!) to a Virtual CD8 Image (can the vc8) 6: Delete the file: GOTHIC3.vc4 from convert gothic3 image and copy the GOTHIC3.vc6 (fix image) from gamecopyworld on this place *after this, rename GOTHIC3.vc6 (from the fix image) to: GOTHIC3.vc4 7: mount with VC8 in your FIRST CD/DVD Rom *right click on the GOTHIC3.vc4 and mount it 8: Copy the SaveGame from gamecopyworld in the savegame folder from gothic3 *When SaveGame not works, Dowload here: http://www.rapidshare.de/files/36817980/gothic3.rar 9: Start the game with Gothic3.exe when not run... try, try, try after 3~4trys.. its work! 10: Load the game, press ESC and start a new game... When u not use a SaveGame from Gothic3, u cant start a new game ~.~ Finish :-) Have Fun with this Bugged but great Game ^.^ Sry for my bad english but i hope anybody understand... Credits for the SaveGame to User: Grunt Greetz DerPain Thread title changed! |
in step 4 do you mean apply the official patch by piranha bytes?
|
yer... savegame is for the release patch :-)
|
I haven't understood anything :( .... I guess I 'll have to bring back the game to the store .....
|
Can someone explain me how I rename the .vc6 file to .vc4? My windows only shows me that it is a virtual cd but does not show me the ending of the Datafile.
|
gosh you people are hopeless. learn some windows and then try to backup your games :P ...anyway:
open the folder then go tools->folder options->view->hide extentions for known file types and disable it. or something like this cause I dont have english windows. can someone tell me the path for the gothic 3 saves folder? |
... or use a proper file manager, like FAR Manager or Total Commander, rather than that unusable piece of shit called Windows Explorer...
|
I tried to convert the MDS/MDF image of gothic3 that I have on my computer to a virtual cd 8 image, but it doesnt work...
the conversion is finished after 1 second and all I get are some crappy data files of only 100kb. How can I make a vcd8 image out of an mds image? |
I tried it the hole day , found a dozen of guides like this and faked stupid crap like the "cracks". I run the Gothic3.exe about 1Million times. Banned my "bad software" moved my disks from a to z. Nothing works !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its Voodoo not science And where is the dir for the Savegames???? Its so important to start the game, yes? |
@Nyctalus.
first mount your image then make a virtual cd from the drive wih the mounted image And yes could someone say what the dir of savegames is? |
Hello! I got a problem. If i mount this GOTHIC3.vc4 in Virtual CD i got a message:

|
Did everything you said still it keeps saying insert disk  i installed virtual cd let it make a image of my englisch .nrg download and replaced it with fixed image. renamed it as it stated in your steps but still a no no for me:mad:
I even tryed the instructions on the german fixed image:D |
Well for me it worked. but I had mdf/mds files for the image.I mounted them then made the virtual cd. But I had first changed my virtual drive setting as in the screenshots wchi can be found in the fixed image rar.
The I just did right click and insert virtual cd into D:\ which is my physical first dvd drive. maybe you just mount it on the wrong drive And this game either has insane requirements or a heavy memory leak. It used up all my virtual memory :P took 2 minutes just to exit the game... |
