Whenever I try to run HT with this method, the game crashes and points to the kernel32.dll - I also tried CureROM, same result.

Any ideas? Thx...

You're the first that has problems, all other 539 people got it working (+ or - 1 or 2). I'm inclined to think your system is 'off' or that you think you did it all correctly, but actually didn't.

1st of all, make 100% sure you have the correct patch. Perhaps try the updated patch. The patch I used is 183.624.931 bytes big.
(another patch I have ends with 666 bytes, but I didn't test that one).

Install your euro copy of AOW-HT and patch it with... the patch.

Then and ONLY then, replace the original patched euro ActOfWar_HighTreason.exe file for the file from the archive I provided.
Perhaps even replace AOW_HT_Editor.exe with the same (but renamed) file.
(just to root out all files that are using Tages as a protection).

If this really doesn't work then try looking at your drivers and perhaps your hardware (you probably should skip this game on a TNT2).
If nothing draws your attention... chances are your Windows is fouled up. Happened to me several times, stuff just didn't work until I re-installed (read: put back a ghost).

Someone was posting a message with a link to a cracked exe, but the message seems to be gone now.
Perhaps if you submitted the file to GCW it would stick...
