Looking For F.E.A.R. Version 1.4, No CD Patch. ;)

It makes no difference if you are in the USA or not, you can use a nocd crack if you want to, to play the game. After all, it's your copy of the software and your PC. If however, you make a copy of the game and try to distribute it, you'd be in trouble.

Hi Everyone,


I will not respond to the rudeness as I feel that "caki",
"Luciel", & "Joe Forster/STA", have done a great job in
pointing it out, and also dealing appropriately with the
absolute rudeness. Thank you very much for your input
"caki", "Luciel", & "Joe Forster/STA".

In answer to the suggestions and questions, if I were to
follow this route, I have another issue (problem) to deal
with and the issue is, I run my own business and I only
use (have) one computer, this computer is not only my
office computer, it is also my gaming computer.

So in other words to go down the route that all of you are
suggesting is not a viable choice for me, considering the
facts stated above.

That is why I came here to "FileForums" and registered,
I was hoping that if I brought the subject up, that maybe
(if I am lucky, hehe) someone might also know others in
this position, and come up with the No CD Patch solution
for the F.E.A.R. Community for all of the versions that
might be released in the future, including the F.E.A.R. 1.05
being released later in May\2006.

This request is not only just for me, as I believe others have
bought the F.E.A.R. CD Set also instead of buying the F.E.A.R.
DVD Set.

Last but certainly not least, so there is no confusion, I will not
change the way I communicate on these boards, I will continue
to treat strangers (people I do not know), friends (including
internet friends), and family with respect, patience, courtesy,
compassion, and understanding, something that seems to be
lacking these days more and more, especially on the internet.

I make no apologies for who I am or how I treat other human
beings (other human beings, OMG I guess he is not a Bot after
all, Muhahahahahaha).

Ok well the point is the NODVD should work, if it doesn't then the only other way is mini image, and if you don't want to use that, then i'm afriad there's no other solution :/

Well he can also burn a backup image with RPMS emulation and keep his originals safe that way. I don't know why so many people seem to want to avoid mini or full images, it's the only thing I use for my games these days. When I buy a new game (like Battlefield 2), first thing I do is check for a mini image on GCW, and if it's not there I will make my own full image. Sure it costs extra hard drive space but it allows me all the advantages of a crack (except the faster load times) and at the same time I can easily install any patches.

In the meantime I see lots of people over in the Civ 4 1.61 thread wailing about the fact that they can't get a working crack. And they won't even try a mini image. Some people are set in their ways I guess.

To Luciel & RincewindTheWiz,


I understand what it is that you are trying to tell me,
so if the No DVD Patch should work with the F.E.A.R.
Set of CD's, could you please let me know if my
procedure (method) is correct.

1) Make a copy of the original exe, paste it into a folder
on your desktop for safe keeping.
2) Overwrite the original exe with the New No DVD Patch.
3) Use create shortcut and make a new shortcut for the
game and place it onto your desktop.
4) Restart your computer.
5) Using the new shortcut on your desktop, click it and
play the game.

If my procedure (method) is correct, and I seem to be
doing everything right, then as far as I know the No DVD
Patch does not work with the F.E.A.R. Set of CD's.

It would be nice if someone else has the F.E.A.R. Set of
CD's, to try and see if the No DVD Patch works for them,
at least that way if it does work for them, then I would
know that the fault lies in my hands. However I do believe
I am correct about this information.

I will remain patient and wait (not whine, lol), because
you never know, someone might decide to come up with
a No CD Patch for this game in the future (if time and luck
permits).

I would like to express my most sincere thanks to all of you
who have tried to help me, I am very grateful for your time
and especially your patience with me, I really appreciate
your efforts on my behalf.
