Hi,
maybe someone has posted this, too.
But I cannot search words like "USB or IDE" (too short).

I cannot play the games without unplugging my drives.
I tried everything.

Will a "USB 2.0 TO IDE CABLE DRIVE ADAPTER" solve this problem?
For example this here (ebay-german):
http://cgi.ebay.de/USB-2-0-TO-IDE-CA...ayphotohosting

Thanks!

I wouldn't buy such stuff from Ebay. Instead, why don't you buy a nice kit from ViPower:

- a VP-8054V (an IDE docking station with a SmartCable port and a PSU), OR

- a VP-8054KIT (like the VP-8054V plus a complete external IDE box, for hard disk rack or CD/DVD-ROM etc.), AND

- a VP-8208 cable (USB 2.0 SmartCable; don't get the VP-8008, it's USB 1.1!) or any other SmartCable you like

in a shop? That should give you reliable performance via a USB connection. I'm very satisfied with it!

Why dont you just disable all your cd-roms (or writers) at your "Device Manager"? That worked for me!

Unfortunately what works for one person does not necassarily work for another. It doesnt work for everyone.

@Dr. Killer: It doesn't work for me! Also with Virtual Drive, no chance!
It works for my friend, because he has a(n) Sata-HDD. Special feature: He needn't to disable any cd/dvd-devices
Lucky fool

@Joe Forster/STA: I don't want to buy something like this from ebay.
I only wanted to know, if this (some devices/adapters like this) would solve my problem.

I don't want to unplug my cd/dvd-writer.
And if I use my cd/dvd-writer via usb, maybe StarForce won't be able to use its "mights"

I also red, that with a usb-driver, you are able to burn StarForce games and to play them. Of course RMPS must be on.

I will search for the adapters.
Thanks

I forgot to say. There are certain programs like anydvd that have to be disabled first.

I haven't AnyDVD.
Which other programs should be closed, too?
I have also other virtual cd/dvd-drives.
(NeroImageDrive).
I also deactivated it, but didn't work...

I only have Nero 6, nothing more (burning software).
