you can't use a cracked exe for a version with different protection, with a version that is protected by a different protection. means: even if crack for us non-starforced version releases, it wont work with a german starforce protected one read this somewhere before for some game, dont remember which one, somebody bought a game in australia that was SF protected but another region versions got a different protection and therefor cracks for it, didnt work for the SF protected one. makes sense, because the protection works different, and SF protected games do not only have the .exe protected, there are some dll files and heck.

Plus some, deeply integrated versions of starforce encrypt the data files, as well (establishing a virtual file system to the game engine). Therefore, the cracked EXE from another, less protected version will only read the encrypted mess from the data file and crash.

but it is indeed possible, isnt it ?
The original exe remains the same, if protected w/ Securom or SF.
Oh, well. I assume these days the exes are not always fully unpacked, => original exe, but they are "fixed", means somwhow changing the exe to start and unpack itself even though theres no CD inside.
Well, that makes sense, indeed. It will load as SD protected, fixed exe (for example), so it will handle things the way, SD would do.
If you would place this exe in a directory of an SF proteted game and run it, it wouldnt work...
Kewl You dont stop learning...
