Why do you want to convert it to just one CD? Why dont you just convert the game to a DVD? That way it is still on one disc.

The reason they are wav files is this, mp3's require extra processor time to decode them to a wav standard in memory to play, doing this would cause a little pause in the game somewhat on lower spec machines.
So with wav's they just play straight away for those people.
