Try a H2O - a new chip from the people behind the ICE code - which powers the reliable, and very cheap, Duo2. Hell - you could even go with a Duo 2 if you wanted

A few things about the exploit.
1) It does not work on V12 and latter consoles (the Slim PSTwo's) 2) Unless you have a friend with a modded PS2 you will need some way of getting the exploit on your memory card in the fist place. So you will need to purchases something like Swap magic with a flip top or one of those slide cards that will brake your tray gears over time, or Codbreaker, Action replay I think you can use too, or an official HDL or HDA. None of these discs are what I would call cheap to purchase and in fact might cost about the same as a low end chip installation in the end. So why not just go with the mod chip in the first place. 3) What simplesnake is not telling you about the exploit also is that what you will be doing is installing a homebrew app like uLaunchelf to your memory card and from there booting HDL from your memory card because the exploit does not allow you to boot games from disc. But with HDL you would be able to access games you have installed to your HDD with winhiip and boot them from the HDD. So if you dont already have a Sony network adaptor you will need to purchase one for lets say $20-$30 and then if you dont have a spare HDD sitting around you will need to purchase one and you don't want just a little HDD because PS2 games are large so lets go with at least a 40GB HDD that will run you around $50-$60. 4) To trigger the exploit you need an original PSX disc. They are pretty cheap to find these days so thats not a big deal but just the fact that you have to use a disc to use the exploit is kind of crappy. There is no secret agenda here, a modded PS2 with HDL is a much more powerful combination then the exploit alone. This is why I and others suggest it. With a Dev1 mod chip like the MI or CC there is no complex procedures for getting HDL to boot. With the MI or CC you dont need to worry about patching your ISO's to NTSC or PAL as the chip does it all. Now the "other alternatives" simplesnake is ssshhhing about I'm assuming was in reference to the DMS line of chips. Dont get me wrong the DMS chips when working are great however they are about the most buggy chip on the market with the BSOD issues they have. Now if anyone actually read through all this I will state my suggestion loud and clear. A modded console is hand down a better solution then the exploit. If you happen to have Swap Magic already (or any of the other tools) and a Network adapter then hell your more then half way to being able to use the exploit and I say sh*t yeah give it a try. But even you have to admit simplesnake that a modded console is a better solution then the exploit any day.

No I don't
Who still has their warrenty intact? There's no better feeling than sending my PS2 into sony, shipping about $7, and having them replace the laser for free, ship it back and give me another year's warrenty
Most people know someone with sometype of cheat device, if you don't make more friends you weird hermit! yeah the phat PS2 is what you need, there are new apps being developed as we speak, but this route is for either the tech or the cheap The last "Cheat Device" I bought cost me $30, and i installed the disk myself Find me a decent chip and install it at that cost, then again when they first come out all chips are great, what ever happened to the Messiah? Get a psx demo disc from one of your new friends if you don't have one Or get chipped, burn out your PS2 and buy another one or get it fixed, I'm sure someone here could profit off those repairs

I guess you have never actually sent in your PS2 to Sony for repair. LOL they dont fix the lasers for free any more. That was way back in the day with the poor quality 400B lasers. The warrenty sticker ...haha ... rip it off and stick it to your cats head. Unless you paid for an extended warranty from the store you bought it from if I remeber right the Sony warranty is only good for 90 days anyway.
I would say the exploit is not for the tech at all but 100% for the cheap ass. I install the Apple Pro's for $25 in the V1-V7's which is cheaper then your $30 cheat device. The Apple pro has all the features of the Messiah which really was never very much. The Messiah was replaced by the current fourth gen chips which are much better. So in the end a mod chip still shines brighter then your cheap ass exploit.

I don't think I can give out the number, or tell you what to say to them, but the last PS2 I had repaired was for a friend of mine, it was done about 2 months ago, takes them about 10 days.
Maybe you should try being nice with them on the phone, or maybe they know you mod No skin off my teeth, Ps2 wasn't built right, psx wasn't either, and i never spent a dime on extending my warranty Oh, and they updated my drivers to the progressive scan dvd mode too $25 for a chip, I'll keep my warranty thanks, a new ps2 is still like $130, laser parts are probably half that, but I don't know I don't have the need to price parts Hey ass, keep you're language in check, kids read this stuff, if you get upset about what I write go complain about it in your blog I've sent in V2s V4s and V7s How much did you're setup cost? Lets do a tally computer with dvd writer and lets say a spindle of dvds? Your chip, your repair parts, oh and your Soldering Gun, ha Yeah, still more than my exploit, HD, and network adapter, and my dirty dirty cheat device, ohhhhhhhh Least I'm not selling anything!
