Hmmm, these files are part of the 'smarte' protection. I dont know why they wont copy to the hardrive though?
Try and do just the Age of Empires 3 conversion on its own and see if it will install from the converted DVD. (Use a DVD-RW) If it installs ok then you wont need the files on the DVD as you wont be using the DVD to play anyway so hopefully those files wont even be needed. Let me know how it goes.

@RavenClaw: You can try to make an image of the cd/dvd and then extract the file with IsoBuster.

I would still be curious to know why these files wont simply copy to the hardrive from the CD/DVD? I had no problems with them.
And 'Ravenclaw' is the second person I have come accross with this problem?
