Fable Error

Hey guys,
I just bought Fable yesterday, spectacular game.
Then this morning I got a virus on my C drive so I format C.
Fable is still intact on my D drive and when I try to run it I get the following error.
"This application has failed to start because d3dx9_25.dll was not found."
I have the disks in there but it still comes up with the error.
Any ideas?

Delete the files from your D: and then reinstall the game.

To be totally precise, the file that its missing is a DirectX component. I would imagine that the game requires DX9.0c, but you only have an earlier version installed. The other possible scenario is that the game is missing registry settings somewhere which tell it stuff like where it is located (& thus where to look for DX), and in which case you will want to re-install.

Cheers

I bet he has service pack 1, so he would have DX9.0b

So yeah he needs to get SP2 or get DirectX 9.0c

@tombo800: Find the DirectX installer on your game CD/DVD and launch it, to have all necessary DirectX components installed on your PC. Happy gaming!
