"USB Trick" with StarForce v3

In the Thread about Worms 4 I read about some "USB Trick" that works against SF v3.

I just can't find the exact steps of this trick in the forum threads.
I wold be very thankful if someone could descibe me this trick.

But keep in mind: Mayhems Starforce has been updated!
All optical ide-drives has to be unplugged. Rest works as described in the above mentioned threads.

BTW.
If I have a FireWare external DVD but not a USB.
Does it change something?
