I'll remember to get some of the media you just listed next time I get blank DVD's. too bad i got 50 of thum lol.so will using a harddrive solve all those problems?? and if i dumped an image from one of the discs that was a little slow, would that be the same as its original image ?

no - if you put the slow discs onto the HDD, they'd play as an original had been loaded onto the HDD. Basically, you have the same data on both the copy and the original, but as the dye isn't as reflective as on the original, it is slower to come off the disc as the laser has to work harder to retrieve the data. So, you won't notice any difference between putting the original or the copy on the HDD.
Basically, in short, loading your slow backup onto the HDD will cure the problems with it being slower.

someone explained it to me liek this: ^ = data _ = space on dye fast burn: __^^__^^__^^__ slow burn: _^_^_^_^_^_^_ if you can make any sence of that, i think thats right. ok, so i need to get my games on a HDD asap! I'll have to lend a drive off a friend temporarily. or i could buy one, use it temporarily, then take it back afterwards. hmm, I'll think of something. do you know of any list of games that need HDD patches? I know that GT4 needs one. any list of known game errors or something would be cool. i dunno, just wondering i am

another little question:
dvd decrypter makes an ISO and an MDS. i dont really need the MDS, as theyre usually for MDF's. will it be any better if i use the MDS ? i think it gives you that option for "Play Station 2" at the bottom if you use a MDS. I'm just wondering, why would you need a MDS for an ISO in the first place? isnt DVD Decrypter being a bit pointless for even bothering to make it?

Why not use Sonic Recordnow? Make image to the PC HD and then burn..
Works wonders for me without a problem..Only time I ever used DVD Decrypter was when I had to back up God of War and GT4 other than that I only use it back up DVD Movies..Using Good DVD-R's factors as well as mentioned by lufcfan but even without someone mentioning it, it's common sense no?

so what exactly are the advantages with sonic recordnow over dvd decrypter?
i havnt had a game not work on me yet, i was burning too slow. now ive realised that with the media I'm using you have to burn quick, i went back and reburned 1 or 2 games and they work fine, and load fast. btw, ive been burning my new 8x media at 6x, but the load times on the games still seem to be fast. should i just go all out and burn at 8x ? could this make the load times even faster?

I'd say, always go as fast as the media and your burner will allow
