GTA - San Andreas

@ munsterbuster
What are you searching in this forum? Better go home, damn kid!

GTA - San Andreas will probably use a very new version of "SafeDisc" or "SecuROM" because GTA 3 used "SafeDisc 2" and GTA - Vice City used
"SecuROM 4".

Hopefully it does NOT use "StarForce 3"!!!

GTA:SA is protected by SecuROM 7.006, and a new custom protection called Starmind. Quite few forums have this info and it seems legit...

I hold the bet. Than with some good burners you can even make a working clone. Than using the regix and no probs then.

The thing is, so many people on these types of Forum (Not me), have no intention of buying this game, and the people who have bought it today in the US (I know a few who have), have no interest in nocd fixes etc, and so don't come here to tell us the protection the game uses. If this game uses Starforce, and the USB trick is blocked, then I'm afraid that's the end for me and PC games. I'm not being a sulken little crybaby here, it's just that if I can't make a working backup, I might as well buy an XBOX (spit) and the game on that. At least then I can play on my big TV in the living room. I'm 95% sure that PC Starforce and the XBOX 360 will be the nail in the coffin for PC games (not for all the other things PC's can do of course).

If the USB trick still works, then I'm hoping it uses STARFORCE. It's EASY to make a backup if you're a legit owner. It's the thieving gits who have problems.
