Anybody know what protection GTA:SA will use?

I don't want to buy it tomorrow if it uses StarForce 3. I'm officially boycotting. Anybody know?

kosmiq 06-06-2005 06:14

Noone knows yet... But my bet is that it will be SecuROM with some custom CDchecks troughout the game.

Check the My worst nightmare... ever! thread...

Talus 06-06-2005 06:46

Hehe..yeah I read your thread the first day...I'm afraid of it coming TRUE!!

I didn't realize the thread turned into a thread discussing what protection GTA:SA would use.

So, I guess my thread is a dupe?

munsterbuster 06-06-2005 07:05

I hope it is a damn hard or impossible protection. I love to see those kids and warez punks start threads, to cry through whole forum. :D

DarkLeftos 06-06-2005 07:42

You really, really hope it's an impossible to crack protection?

So you really don't want to make a backup disk of GTA:SA?

Okay, then I guess you hope it's Starforce.

Go ahead, get infected mate. You really, really have good hopes.

Talus 06-06-2005 09:19

@munsterbuster

Why do you visit these forums then?

I hope you're here like me. I either want to play a backup or I don't want to have to have the GTA:SA DVD in my DVD/CD drive when I want to play my game that I paid for.

kosmiq 06-06-2005 09:45

The biggest problem for us it that we want to be able to backup the games but not let warezkiddies get to the game...
Thats a big problem as you can't have only the backup part and no warezkiddies... Remove protection and noone will ever need to crack it, keep protection and we can't back it up.

Add starforce and our PC's gets baaaaaaad....

I have to say that Starforce is best for backing up, yet stopping pirates. I've finished playing my backup of Chaos Theory, yet Pirates still can't play the game. Perfick! Everyone's saying this game will use Securom, and I hope they're right, but 5 hours from release and there's still no sign of it points to it being Starforce, though I hope I'm wrong.

p.s.Bear in mind that nocd fixes come from the crack groups ;)

GTA - San Andreas

@ munsterbuster
What are you searching in this forum? Better go home, damn kid!

GTA - San Andreas will probably use a very new version of "SafeDisc" or "SecuROM" because GTA 3 used "SafeDisc 2" and GTA - Vice City used
"SecuROM 4".

Hopefully it does NOT use "StarForce 3"!!!

From IZONEWS -

GTA:SA is protected by SecuROM 7.006, and a new custom protection called Starmind. Quite few forums have this info and it seems legit...

STARMIND ;)

Sounds like a crock of s*** to me. Bet it's latest Securom+DVD checks.

ewbengel 06-06-2005 14:49

i think it will use starforce newest version
but then still waiting on crack from holodum or reloadet and then leeching the game

I hold the bet. Than with some good burners you can even make a working clone. Than using the regix and no probs then.

t.foster73 06-06-2005 14:53

If the USB trick still works, then I'm hoping it uses STARFORCE. It's EASY to make a backup if you're a legit owner. It's the thieving gits who have problems.
