DvD -/+ rw drive will not read/write after disc write failure!

I have a liteon dvd-/+ rw drive, however it quite often fails to burn cds/dvds, and when it does it wont read/write anything for about a week.

The period of time got progressively longer, it is not a software issue because I have tried switching it into a diffrent pc and same thing happenns.

When I insert a cd/dvd, the green light will flash... but it will go off too soon to have read the disc and will not mount it. It will always say no disc in drive, now it has stopped working for about 2 months or so and I desperately need it to work!

If anybody has any solutions/answers, please post!

thanks
