hi khafan,
no the disc is not under device manager,or maybe I should say,there has been a couple of times it has been,but there is no way to acces the disc.its not visible in bios either.is there anyway to get the disc working again?

Have you tried re-enabling your secondary HD's channel with Starforce nightmare?
Also enable ATA and node. |

it didnt work.when I press enable(maybe 4 times in a row)does starforce nightmare togle on,off,on,off?.do the partitions show up when i press enable,or do i have to restart

When you press enable, let it work (the title of the program changes from Starforce Nightmare > Processing > Starforce Nightmare)
And yeah restarting could help. If all else fails, try going into your BIOS (press Del or whatever key it asks on bootup) and check if it is seeing the drive there. |

not in the bios.I tried to push the power button on/off quickly.and for 1min,it seem to work(the partitions showed up in windows).but then the disc started making a terrible noise.and I had to restart,and the partitions where gone again

no good
,I succeded in doing a format,and full scandisk.even fix mbr etc. with a hitachi program.but it seldom see the drive devicemanager/bios.guess I just have to trash the disk.
