ok since ive never attempted this with sf3 before... i went to a friends pc who doesnt have internet and doesnt play modern stuff, eg: sf3, took my drives (as hes are a bit to old) and managed to make an .mds image, plugged in the laptop on the network, put the image there, then got home transfered it to the pc, disable drives, install, run, cd key entered, accepted, checks cd, and it gives me the tipical error... hmmm, sigh, oh well nevermind ill just use the cd.

Did you try the USB trick, Luciel? If your .MDS file has been created correctly, running the backup from a burned copy with RMPS emulation should work that way.
If you don't mind sharing your .MDS file (I wasn't able to extract the DPM info myself until now), I'd like to give it a shot on an external USB reader... regards, buggles |

Hey guys. I've made a working MDS image for Trackmania Sunrise. At the moment I'm up here in Scotland on a Bank Holiday break with my G/F, but as soon as I get back home (Monday evening), I will post it.
p.s.Still requires USB adaptor of course. |

The USB 'trick' means burning the image to cd-r(w) with RMPS emulation enabled in Alcohol 120%, disabling all IDE cd-/dvd-rom drives of your system and then using an external USB cd-/dvd-rom drive + Alcohol or Daemon Tools to do the RMPS emulation. Actually this appears to be the only solution for backing up the latest Starforce protection (atm).
Maybe you could upload your .MDS file to some service like www.rapidshare.de and post the link here, so other forum members (who weren't lucky enough to get a proper .MDS ) can try your one as well...regards, buggles |
