Trackmania Sunrise

Ok the trick of starf**ck/nightmate, neither seem to work :S , has anyone managed to get it working without cd?

BaumDoktor 29-04-2005 02:10

nope - wasn'T even able to make a good dpm -> http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=69690
http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=69558

so maybe if u can make a good dpm (have a sf free system to make an image on ?) with that and the usb trick it should work

Luciel 29-04-2005 04:37

ok since ive never attempted this with sf3 before... i went to a friends pc who doesnt have internet and doesnt play modern stuff, eg: sf3, took my drives (as hes are a bit to old) and managed to make an .mds image, plugged in the laptop on the network, put the image there, then got home transfered it to the pc, disable drives, install, run, cd key entered, accepted, checks cd, and it gives me the tipical error... hmmm, sigh, oh well nevermind ill just use the cd.

Did you try the USB trick, Luciel? If your .MDS file has been created correctly, running the backup from a burned copy with RMPS emulation should work that way.
If you don't mind sharing your .MDS file (I wasn't able to extract the DPM info myself until now), I'd like to give it a shot on an external USB reader...

well im not sure about the usb trick :S mind explaining or pointing to right thread? and sure i guess i can share the mds file :)

Hey guys. I've made a working MDS image for Trackmania Sunrise. At the moment I'm up here in Scotland on a Bank Holiday break with my G/F, but as soon as I get back home (Monday evening), I will post it.

p.s.Still requires USB adaptor of course.

buggles 29-04-2005 16:03

The USB 'trick' means burning the image to cd-r(w) with RMPS emulation enabled in Alcohol 120%, disabling all IDE cd-/dvd-rom drives of your system and then using an external USB cd-/dvd-rom drive + Alcohol or Daemon Tools to do the RMPS emulation. Actually this appears to be the only solution for backing up the latest Starforce protection (atm).
Maybe you could upload your .MDS file to some service like www.rapidshare.de and post the link here, so other forum members (who weren't lucky enough to get a proper .MDS ;)) can try your one as well...

Get the mds file at copybase site.Gonna test it if it works.

buggles 30-04-2005 10:29

The file from copybase.ch was made from the german release
I guess, that's why it didnt't work for my UK import version...

!HaGaR! 30-04-2005 16:11

Region: France

The file @ copybase seems to be the .mds of the France-Version.
Region "Frankreich".

But... 4kb... Isnīt it a bit small?

I tried to dump an own .mds file from my german Sunrise-Version.
Well, the .mds-file (and dpm-dump) seems to be created succesfully,
but the burned disc wonīt work (rmps emulation is active) with the usb-trick.

So I guess my .mds is screwed up.
Bye the way: Latest Starforce seems to block DPM-Dumping via IDE-Channels, I created my DPM during the USB-Drive (no more ide-opticals in my system).

Is there a difference? Could some1 who has dumped a working .mds retry dumping the .mds via usb and compare these files?
Maybe dumping a working file is only possible with starforce-free systems?

The .mds file from copybase.ch should work for the german release ('Spielregion: DE'), so there's no need to dump it yourself.

!HaGaR! 30-04-2005 19:05

@buggles

Well, re-checked the copybase... Confusing Informations...

Trackmania-Sunrise Starforce-Version Vx.x.x.x.
-> Verkaufsregion: Frankreich.

Okay, maybe thatīs just the information which starforce-version has been used on the french discs...

.mds-file uploaded should be for the german release... Spielregion: "DE"

So I gave it a try. Downloaded it, swapped my own .mds with the copybase-version...
-> alcohol wonīt mount my image-file anymore (yes, renamed the file)
-> canīt burn coz alcohol refuses to burn the "unsupported" .mds.

So I guess itīs fake/different version.

Anyone who can confirm/correct me?

i got the mds from copybase.ch and i can mount the image without any problems.
as you can read in my other post (referring to the 'cracking' alternative stuff) it's also almost possible to play with it.
i guess it works with the usb-trick, but i don't have any usb 2.0 drives around.

there is another mds from the copybase.ch forum. http://forum.copybase.ch/index.php?a...pe=post&id=418
well, it does not work for me, but perhaps it works for you.

Nice, I'd really appreciate a working .MDS of the UK version (might save me some windoze reinstalling ;))...
