? Whats that? Never had problems with creating an account with a key and no disc in drive.

When i remember right, there are differences between CD-Keys for the retail version an CD-Keys for the steam-version.

It seems STEAM knows that your key is for the retail version and therefore it ask for the CD/DVD.
