I use it all the time without complications.
1. you got it right. 2. pretty close but recent versions of clonedvd2 allow the deselecting of previews, audio, subtitles, and even chapter removal (if you really want to). This allows a very good quality backup. 3. this just burns your existing files to dvdr. Tyler!
