for burnout, try deleting the files on X, Y, and Z. Then play. Alsmo make sure your time is correct.
If it happens fairly common, then you dvd-rom is either dieing or the disk needs to be a bit better quality. Most of the time it is the dvd-rom. If you have a thompson drive, I definately wouldn't rule it out.

Thanks for the info, what files do x,y,z hold, also what does the time have to do with anything and I have the standard drive that came with the box.
Does the FlashFXP transfer rate cause any problems, try to run on 100mbs/full duplex and need to restart several times before I can get a decent transfer speed should I try on half duplex - just a thought. Cheers |

x, y, and z hold game cache files. One that burnout needs could be corrupt, or removed. I was looking around and it seemed to be a common problem with Burnout 3. Deleting everything in the x, y, and z will require Burnout to create the cache files again.
Oddly, the time matters in some games. Don't ask me why because I have no idea specifically.
