Its just a crap console, Even the unmodded consoles are dieing. People all over the net are doing this fix and consoles are still going down. Right now it seems to be hit and miss. Some lasers refuse to spin up after the diode install, some blow the lasers on power up yet some claim to have it working for now. Damn Sony for selling us this piece of crap to start with

I'd almost bought a slimee myself..
It's a drag the population of the world has to do beta testing after spending hard earned money.. I guess it's like everything else.. Wait until its been perfected to throw your money into it.. I guess thats not true.. The dying laser problem lasted the lifespan of the original PS2.. minus the V7s maybe. But anyway to the guys that did buy one, my sympathies and thanks at the same time.

Maybe it's worth a try
 They might just stop making a laughing stock of their consoles then. If this trend continues, I ain't touching PS3
