I recently got a batch of G04's from the supermediastore and they are the ones with the dark purple dye. Guess I got lucky this time. I am going to have to check out some of these TY's as well. Ritek must have sacraficed quality for quanity. I hate it when that happens!

did ritek change there dye ? and wonder if ridata still has the drak pruple dye cause thats why i always use.

It happened to me too from Meritline. I bought 50 pack Ritek G04 from them and noticed that the dye was a lighter color and some of the disks had dye coating problems (i.e. pits and uneven layers of dye). I used DVD identifier to see what the disks were and they said that they were Ritek G05. Well after a few burns and no luck on a Messiah V7 machine, I returned them. They sent me real G04 back. When you do send them back make sure you specify you want the real G04 with the darker dye. Be careful with getting Taiyo Yuden from Meritline cause I read on a whole bunch of forums that they were selling fake Yuden. I hope this helps.

Yeah I got a 25 pack of that crap version GO4/GO5 light purple dyed discs that Meritline is selling. Those discs are nothing but crap. 8 coasters out of my 25 pack.

I may put a warning sticky up on this.
