Good info CGL.
I use Anydvd and it basially does everything for you. If you are already using some sort of decrypter I suggest trying another or at least the latest version of Anydvd. Because sometimes what doesnt work with one, will work with another. Tyler!

It pays to pay attention once in a while. It was once said," You just might learn something". As you can see that stuck in my CrAzy head as well. Geez, the things us big kids pick up on these days. @realmccloy, There ya have it bud! All you need to know about todays lesson on DVD back ups! Just kidding! Really this stuff should help you out alot though. Just try different programs for different DVD's until you get one to work and try to log your success so you can help others later. Stick to what you know first then switch if need be. Thats what works for me.

Thanks for the input, I use DVD Region Free in conjunction with CloneDVD2 and that gets me passed any bumps in the road. The disk was just damaged. I took it back and got a new one, and was able to backup with no issues.
What really was insane about this disk was, side A was the directors cut and side B was the Theatrical verion. The Directors cut was choking at 67% and the Theatrical version was choking at 93%. Talk about bad luck..HA. I make a conscious effort to backup all my DVD's as my wife and daughter I swear use these things as frisbee's when I am not around!! Hey, forgot to ask this, since I have you guys on the horn.... What I like about CloneDVD2 is it's simplistic interface. I only have three buttons to choose from..HA. But, one thing that I don't like about it is if I try to backup a very long movie it basically is just compressing it into one DVD. Now, I have given thought to purchasing a DL DVD Drive so I can backup lengthier DVD's, but opposed to this, what other options do I have. I do not mind having to switch over to a second disk as I have a SONY 400 Disk DVD Changer and I don't even have to get up to do it. I am more concerned about quality. When longer movies are compressed with CloneDVD2 the quality is compromised. Later all! Last edited by realmccloy; 14-07-2004 at 14:12. Reason: BTW |

Ok, there are actually more things to choose from on CloneDVD. The basic ones are probably all your using. Remember you can check or uncheck certain vids within the actual dvd, thus opening up more room for better compression. Also if you can live without DTS Audio and other languages/subtitles that too will free up more space.
Keep an eye on the color charted bar. The closer that gets to the green the better. Tyler!
