Well, it is good to hear that not only spanish guys are getting outthere, hehehehe.
We have been "fixing" every type of installation for two years, but it seems that now we are recognized. In the same page i give you, we post in the forum zone the way to proceed.

I must say we uploaded the modified .msi file cause some spanish people did not recognized our research and thinks everyone could do that. Actually, thats true, but someone must begin the way, and we did. Thats the reason we began to upload such files.

For two years we have been teaching how to proceed in the forum for many installation and game fixing. You must search.
We covered protections like CDFreaks does and some more about "conflict games".

This "team" was born cause i have been learnig for 6 years and no one teached me, so i was sad there weren't anyone could share its knowledges. There werent a good level spanish comunity, so i decided to begin with this. Maybe in the future we could translate into english in order to make it more accesible to everyone. By now it's just in spanish, so sorry, will need to translate.
In a near future, commercial protections will be covered for the public , but thats not important now.

If you want to learn how to proceed with Orca ( thats the name of the .msi file editor (present now on the p2p net)) i recomend u to look for the post "Teenage mutant ninja turtles" in the "Juegos conflictivos" section.
Thats the last tuto i did, and we improved the method quite a lot.

Good luck!

TIP: Not every installation on the market have a .msi file ( just only that ones based on the windows installer engine). Far cry, Teenage mutant ninja turtles, True crime and some more games are just examples of .msi "patching", but there is another installation files out there, like the native installshield system, or home made ones like the Vietcong or Warcraft ones. For ever game must be applied different methods. Thats what we teach to do and to recognize.

1.- Download ORCA.msi program from same location.
2.- Install it
3.- Copy the .msi file from your game into your HD
4.- Remove "read only" attributes from such file (right click and properties...)
5.- Open ORCA and load your .msi.
6.- Look for the "media" section at your left
7.- Change Label name from different CD to just one, and backup all the files using such label.
8.- Done, install and play.

TIP: Thats the only "tutorial" available from me into english. Original is in spanish.

Good luck!

You can also use Total Commander and a plugin for editing MSI files too!

Also, for True Crime, I think you can delete the Volume Labels entirely from the MEDIA file, that way your DVD can be called what you like! But test on a re-writeable DVD first

Smile Doom from CD's to DVD-R

I made my backup copy of Doom3 from my 3xCD's to one DVD-R and it worked. Everything installed and run correctly.
First copy all files from CD-1 to a Hard drive folder, then copy all the .pak files from the folders in CD-2,CD-3 and save them to their correct folders on HardDrive folder. Don't copy anything else from CD-2 or CD-3.

Now, replace the Doom3.exe with a 'No CD' version'.

Then in a Hex Editor open the Doom3.msi and search for text.... DOOM3_1
This is relevent to your problem because there is only one reference to each CD in this. I found the three CD's named as DOOM3_1, DOOM3_2, DOOM3_3
so I renamed them all the same as DOOM3_X and saved the Doom3.msi file.
( I did do searches for other CD name reference but only found the above)
This should work for other games that use xxx.msi and load several CD's.
Don't change the length of the edited names or you will get an error when run, and just make the edited names the same one as the Volume label of the DVD you are going to make.

Now load up Nero and make the DVD ISO, (I first used a DVD-RW) label it as DOOM3_X
Then copy all the files to the compilation and Burn the DVD.

Any ideas to combine the 4 Emperor: Battle for Dune CDs in one DVD?

I could not manage it, cause (1) there are 2 files (i think the movies-ones) in the #2, #3 and #4 volume with the same names and different sizes, and (2) different volume names (EMPEROR1, EMPEROR2, and so on...)

Help!
