I think catpuke999 is right on this one, I do remember a topic on another forum about the same thing with those older AMD processors.
( Don't return the game tho, keep it around untill you upgrade your PC... Its worth every penny )

there has got to be a way to get it to work.. I wont be upgrading my pc any time soon heh.. no money..

Maybe they'll release a patch for it, there is no reason why it shouldn't work on Athlon Tbirds, especially when you consider we can still run games like "Far Cry", or "UT2K4" fine on them and they are much more advanced than a game that was simply ported from a console.

BTW, the same thing happened with the "Worms 3d" demo and "Beyond Good & Evil" demo that were released awhile ago, and they eventually patched those demos to work and the full games runs fine too.

Also, heard someone swapped out their Athlon Tbird and tried "The Suffering" with an old Duron they had lying around and the game then worked. Weird

Not a problem with the cracks so moved to General Gaming. This stuff pisses me off too, I got a me an old (very old) Athlon too, and True Crime dont launch for me either.

I have an Athlon XP 1800 on a ecs k7ama mobo and I have the same issue.
