The Suffering NOCD VENGEANCE problem
 

I will use this crack and it just comes up an illegal opperation.. is there anything I can do to fix this? or is there another crack out there that might work?

Could be many things, its a new crack so others may have the same prob.

What happens when you dont use the crack?

when I dont use the crack it says "please insert the cd" blah blah.. others do have the same problem..

anyone have any suggestions? or another crack? I copied another image from my cd using alcohol this time.. and now when I click the exe using the burnt image it just sits there and doesnt load the game.. and the lights on my cd burner flash..

Well from what I've read on other boards, some of the newly released games (True Crime, The Suffering, Juiced demo, etc.) don't work on the older AMD Athlon Thunderbird processors. I personally can verify that this is true for me, as none of the games above work on mine, they all crash at start.

Has something to do with SSE instructions, which the older processors don't support.

Maybe someone else can confirm this as well.

yea.. ill double click on the crack then in a few seconds it will pop up an illegal opp.. not going in game what so ever.. just an IO.. that sucks.. I also tried some emulation cd-roms and it pops up something like "cd emulation has been detected.. turn it off" blah blah heh.. grrr..

What happens when you put your CD in?

when I put the cd in it just sits there on the loading screen.. the splash screen.. nothing else.. so I was like "hey.. I can use a crack I guess" but the only crack out right now doesnt work for me.. illegal opp..

But I didn't bother to send it to GCW because I didn't see a difference between those 2 cracks.
The only reason this was released twice is because there was discussion about the tools used by vengeance.

Basicly, RELOADED released the same crack with "proper permission" from the cracker who made the tools.
So there shouldn't be a difference between those cracks...
But still, never hurts to try right?

nope.. still does the same thing.. thank you anyways.. I guess I wasted money on this game.. I cant get it to work.. I made an image using alcohol to use the virtual cd drive and all it does.. it says "using cd emulation.. turn it off and restart the app" blah blah.. whatever it says.. so whatever I do.. the comp just doesnt want to run it.. maybe its my cd burner.. I have a cd burner only.. no regular cd rom.. that could be it? its an OLD burner..

I think catpuke999 is right on this one, I do remember a topic on another forum about the same thing with those older AMD processors. :(
( Don't return the game tho, keep it around untill you upgrade your PC... Its worth every penny :) )

there has got to be a way to get it to work.. I wont be upgrading my pc any time soon heh.. no money..

Maybe they'll release a patch for it, there is no reason why it shouldn't work on Athlon Tbirds, especially when you consider we can still run games like "Far Cry", or "UT2K4" fine on them and they are much more advanced than a game that was simply ported from a console.

BTW, the same thing happened with the "Worms 3d" demo and "Beyond Good & Evil" demo that were released awhile ago, and they eventually patched those demos to work and the full games runs fine too.

Also, heard someone swapped out their Athlon Tbird and tried "The Suffering" with an old Duron they had lying around and the game then worked. Weird :(

Not a problem with the cracks so moved to General Gaming. This stuff pisses me off too, I got a me an old (very old) Athlon too, and True Crime dont launch for me either. :(

I have an Athlon XP 1800 on a ecs k7ama mobo and I have the same issue.
