well it's better to have them in the gamedir.start server(not service)wait for the other pc to connect to your ip and then try connecting.

I followed Luci's 9 steps above but the other machine on the Lan (not the one hosting) has nowhere for them to join, only to create? What have I missed? I have followed everything that has been written and it wasnt that hard but all I get on the host machine is the message '****** has declined your invitation!' (something like that anyway!) And yes I'm using the 98 lan not the 99! Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I really would like to whip my son's butt at this game.

well you create the account ok?the other one types the name and password.make sure you agree with the message at the bottom.then choose the same game(record or don't record stats)then play.sometimes the pc might freeze
