That's a good idea, I could just try ripper.dol. I'm not sure how to use it or where to find it, but that is a different can of worms. I can worry about that later. (feel free to save me the trouble of looking)

I'm trying to rip random games, just to learn how to do it so that I can teach people everywhere that this is possible. The games I tried so far were Zelda:WW, SprSmshBro'sMelee.

Because it is so difficult to get all the information I need in one place, it is extremely hard to learn how to do all of this. I'm basically trying to organize a small manual that explains everything from a-z about GC loading and ripping. I'm sick of having to be a member of multiple forums, having to talk to iliterate people (some people have 0 grammar skills), having to read hundreds of posts to get very little information, having to click on other people's recommended links and getting trojans, having to learn multiple languages to get to the multiple useless webpages, and my list can go on. I know that these difficulties are shared by everyone here, but this does not have to be so. I can either wait for one of you to do it (yeah, right), or I can just do it myself and do it right, in proper English, and with sentence structure and logical reasoning. Maybe my efforts will be copied by others, and we can do away with having 300 posts that talk about the same problems. Maybe I'll even publish the damn thing and sell it to the underground community. Bottom line, this system of searching is inadequate, and I'm gonna do my best to fix it.

lol, maybe i should have explain it more. the ripper.dol is the tool phoenix is using to copy games. its that red screen you see on the TV screen when u wanna rip games. so i'm saying instead of using the phoenix to load the ripper.dol you could simply use PSUL or PSOL. btw when you was ripping those games did u set phoenix to save as .gcm or .iso? saving as .gcm seems to have some problems in phoenix, same type of problems u having. hmm.. try saying as a .iso then try again? or just use psol or psul + ripper.dol to rip.

I tried saving as both gcm and iso; they both give the same problem at 100%. I can't imagine it's a network problem if it transfers the data all the way until the end.

I'll try ripping the long way, without Phoenix, and see if that works. I can write up little .bat programs that will help me keep it simple.

Thanks a lot for your help. I'll come back here and post my results.

i've never had much luck with crossover cables but with my hub, i've never had a problem as of yet with it. so around 42 bucks is the standard (average) price for the adapter then?

$35 for a broadband adaptor and if you got a hub, no need for crossover cables. good luck
