Xbox networking question

Yes to all of your questions.

I tried Absolute FTP and Cute and both programs say conection refused by source computer.

I try to ping the IP for the xbox and get nothing.

I thought it may have been a firewall issue. I use Zone Alarm and know you ave to shut t down..but I disabed it at startup and still have the problems.

It is easier to run all the conections throgh a switch?
