u can just leave it in there it wont hurt any thing and u never know when u might need it when new games come out like my apple use to play ever thing till 2x toc checks ame out then it would not work but they fixed that porb with the cd loaders for the no solder chips so u never know when u might need it plus u wont screw up ur ps2
