i am not possitive but if i'm not mistaken, a usb1 connection will underbuffer , cause the transfer rate is too slow, causing you to make a coaster.
coaster = set it on the coffee table and put drinks on it...lol (unsuccessful backup) for dvd's using an external drive, i think you need a good usb2 connection to keep up with the amount of data transferred. there are others in the forum that may have more experience in this area. anyone want to add to this???
