Metal Gear Solid 2 DVD to CD backup Guide

Hi. Since some of you guys have MGS2, I wonder if you could help me in my thread? I don't know the URL as it isn't showing up, but its in this board: "CD/DVD Software & Utilities" . There must be a program I can use to get access to the MGS2 files off the DVD, right? Since you guys know how to back it all up....

It's only for personal use. You can read my topic in that board.

I hope I'm not coming off as impatient, I just think this thread focuses on MGS2, and it IS pinned, so I might have better luck finding help here.

Wouldnt it be possible to split up the Tron 2.0 DVD into 2 Volumes which are beeing burned on 2 CD's. After that there must be a way to refer the first CD to the second at the installation-status.

Is that possible ?

(I dont know it, its just an idea.)

TRON 2 can be backed up to 2 cds the same way as MGS2.
i also did it and it worked. u just need the registry files
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Monolith
coz it contains the path were TRON 2.0 is installed.

The current version of BlindWrite 5 will now back-up dvd securom protected games.

isn't it possible to simply copy all files from dvd to som cd's. And then for installation copy them in one path on hd and install from there?

It should work for 99% of all games.
Sometime a SETUP will have the file for copying in the root-dir and check the disc-label, then it will not work.

cdkiller,good effort for putting out this guide.Though,i was wandering if there's any way to do the reverse(multiple cd's to a dvd).i couldn't find any guides like this on the net...it will be nice if u can write up a guide

you can man.i think someone mentioned it here.as far as i can remember create folders on the dvd(cd 1,2,3,4,...)and put all the contents of the cd inside.i think
