Dude, yeah. You have to take the WHOLE DARN THING apart.

You didn't follow the disassembly guides, did you?

Every screw has to come out, the top and bottom BOTH come off.

The entire darn thing comes apart in about 20 pieces.

I know, it's scary - but trust me, you just have to take ALL the screws out and EVERYTHING apart.

You don't want to solder to that board while it's in the case, anyway...

And why would the PS2 be on its top? You'd be seeing the BOTTOM of the motherboard in that case, now wouldn't you?
