cheers for the reply gurm, dunno wot the other guys on about, wrong thread i guess.
its a toughie i know , like u said surely the cdrs would crash as well if it was the chip. perhaps i will try a different media first, any idea wot v7's like best , the backups r on zero defex at the moment coz my v4 loves em. beyond that i guess im stumped. cheers murdie
