Incorrect installation, or laser calibration. Those are my guesses. But it's a v7, so the laser OUGHT to be good. I'd say that the chip was installed wrong.
You've tried these backups in YOUR modded pS2 and they work, right? Hmm, that's a weird one. I'd say incorrect chip install, but usually then the CDR backups wouldn't work either... Hmm... COULD be a bad chip. - Gurm
